Orpheus biography
A character of ancient Greek myths. The famous singer and musician, the personification of the all -conquering action of art. The history of the origin of Orpheus’s father is the Thracian river god Eagr, and the mother is a calliop, a muse of poetry, philosophy and science. This is the most common version of Orpheus, although the hero’s mothers are called other muses, and the father of art, the god Apollo, is called the father.
The first preserved references to Orpheus are found in the ancient Greek poets Ivik and Alke. Orpheus Myths Orpheus lived in one village near Mount Olympus - the houses of the gods. God Apollo considered Orpheus a favorite and gave the hero a golden lyre - a magical instrument with which Orpheus could move rocks and trees and tame wild animals. Orpheus's voice caused joy for everyone who heard him.
During the funeral of Pelia, burial games were held, where Orpheus won the game on Kifara. Orpheus became one of the participants in the campaign for the golden rune, a member of the Argonauts team. Later, in order to improve his knowledge, Orpheus went to Egypt, where he studied music, poetry, rites and theology, becoming the first in all this. Orpheus was a “vegetarian” and forbade shed blood.
Apollo is most known to the myth of how Orpheus descended into Hades for his own wife - Nymph Eurydice. Eurydice stung the snake, and the nymph died. The inconsolable Orpheus went down to the kingdom of the dead and reached the lord of the underworld Aida and his wife Persephone. Orpheus sang them and played on the lyre. The lords of the underground kingdom were imbued with sympathy for the hero and gave it the opportunity to bring Eurydice back to the surface of the earth, to the world of the living.
Orpheus and Eurydice, however, Hades set a condition according to which Orpheus should not have looked at Eurydice until both are on the surface. The hero violated this ban near the exit from the underground world and looked around. The nymph took back into the darkness, and Orpheus again went down to the underground gods, calling for help. But they did not meet him a second time, and Eurydice remained among the dead.
Death is the death of Orpheus in ancient Greece is described in several versions, but they all come down to the fact that the hero was alive by the distraught women. According to Ovid, the companions of Dionysus Menada “glued” to Orpheus, but he rejected the women for which he was torn. According to another version, Orpheus accidentally witnessed the Dionysian mysteries and was killed for it.
According to the third - the hero missed the name of Dionysus when praised in the song of the gods. Orpheus's death was mourned by the muses that collected pieces of the hero’s torn body to bury, and the thunderer Zeus turned the golden lyre of Orpheus into the constellation Lyra. There is also a myth about a certain sanctuary on the island of Lesbos, where the torn head of Orpheus spoke the prophecies.
The script of the film is based on its own play Coctea, the basis for which, in turn, was the myth of Orpheus. The events of the film unfold in the modern world. Orpheus, the famous poet with many fans, witnesses how a certain princess in black one touch the corpse. The princess - the image of death itself - falls in love with Orpheus and is to the lodge of the hero while he is sleeping.
And in the young wife of Orpheus, Eurydice falls in love with an otherworldly satellite of death named Ertubiz. The film contains the hero’s wanderings for the otherworldly after the world in search of the dead spouse, and the canonical ban on looking at the Eurydice, which is violated. The finale, however, is optimistic. The role of Orpheus in this film was played by the cult actor Jean Mare.
The actor and later had to be in the role of characters of ancient mythology. In the year, Mare played the role of the master of the underworld of Aida in the film "Parking", and in the film "The abduction of the Sabines" the year Mare played the god Mars. Both films are part of the “Orphic Trilogy”, and in the “Testament of Orpheus” there are some characters from the previous film.

Events take place in Rio de Janeiro during the annual carnival. The role of Orpheus in the film was played by actor Breno Mello. Actor Breno Mello in the year came out a fantastic melodrama “where dreams lead”, which is built according to the canon of the myth of Orpheus, although the characters and events of the myth are not involved in the plot. The hero of the film loses children, and then dies in a car accident himself.
