From Meshchera, the participants of the theater laboratory in one caulbet in one cauldron, the artistic director of the theater for children and youth at the cathedral, Marina Yesenina, received a grant of the President of the Russian Federation to hold the experimental creative laboratory “Young Drama - Young Spectators”. How is it usually? An adult playwright, sitting at home, composes something that, in his opinion, will be interesting to teenagers.
An adult director works on the text with his vision on how to attract the attention of the young public. Adult actors rehearse the roles of adolescents based on how they are imagined by a playwright, director and they themselves. And then schoolchildren come to the hall, and the moment of truth comes - either attention, or you know. Marina Yesenina came up with the original “baking” recipe for the new drama.
It is necessary to throw playwrights, directors, actors and young spectators into one “boiler” for several days. It was important for Marina Yesenina to invite children who have difficult life circumstances in the family, because it is known that theatrical classes with professionals are a good medicine. To create a creative microclimate, to exclude “external” factors, the first part of the laboratory was held at a camp site in the Klepikovsky district.
Five teams were created: every four guys, artists, director and playwright, each worked with her play. Absolutely dissimilar were chosen - according to the genre, in the style and at the alleged age of the audience of the play of young authors. I wanted to present a wide range of modern drama. Young directors were invited to participate in the project without “starry” manners who were ready to work in a team with playwrights, actors and children. According to Marina Yesenina, the away practice has fully justified itself. The playwrights got acquainted with the plays of other authors, directly talked with adolescents, actors, directors and “rewrote their text on the go. It was more difficult for the directors - to “give out” the result in four incomplete days. But no one set strict framework for the final “brew”: one could play one scene, give your interpretation of the plot, themes.
All five groups approached the task differently, creatively. Someone with the help of adults composed sketches based on the play, someone combined the text of the playwright with his own comments. Children surprised adults with their minds, wellness, emotionality. The older ones are happy: the guys who did not differ earlier with activity at school were actively involved in the process, discussed something, invented, willingly went on stage.
In the house at the Cathedral at the final stage of the laboratory at the main stage of the theater, not just readers were shown, as planned, but almost sketches with a directorial decision, with scenography elements. Unfortunately, due to the illness of one of the directors, four out of five works came to the finish line. Professional artists already worked in the shown screenshots, only one girl, Polina Zinkova, came out of the schoolchildren, the holidays were over!
But after the end of the lessons, we will think that exclusively so young laboratory participants resorted to rehearsals. How can you leave "your own"? And “their own” tried to meet expectations. The artists in each sketch did not just follow the instructions of the young directors, but invested in the role of both the soul and skill. The absence of acting snobbery among the Soboryans, the exceptional performance of the troupe is noted by everyone: both spectators and professionals.
Together with Ryazan journalists, teachers, adults and young laboratory participants, they watched and discussed the presented works so dissimilar to each other for two days.
Magic is going on right in the shopping center, the princess feeds on fast food, old age tries to use young blood to achieve its goals. True, in the final it turns out that the “harmful” old people themselves do not know what they want deep down. After all, he, like most other characters in the play, dreams of a mild “trouble -free” life by Sultan Temyshev created an exciting dynamic action, without “swallowing” important topics for which it is worth telling this adult history to adolescents. And he found a director's move for the young public: we see what is happening with the eyes of an older brother, with the help of his violent imagination, young lawyers as much as such a laboratory needed, many understood the discussion.
When adult critics, journalists, teachers began to disassemble what they saw, make comments - polite and for the most part faithful, the “children of the laboratories” defended “their own”. Young lawyers made fiery speeches: “Do you know how hard it was for the playwright to rewrite their text on the move? The director did everything in life, we recognize our peers!
And how difficult it is for adult actors to play children !!! And inspired authors and directors went home with the luggage of new ideas.
