Maybach biography
Wilhelm Maybakh was born in Hailrovna Germany on February 9, that is, years ago. He was the son of a carpenter who influenced the development of a car. This is especially applied to the period when he was an employee of Gottlib Daimler. Maybach was gifted with outstanding technical talents. His inventions became a decisive contribution to the embodiment of the far -sighted concepts of Daimler in the field of motorized mobility with various modes of transport.
Today his name lives in the brand Mercedes-Maybach. However, in the year the legendary name was revived as a luxurious brand of Daimlerchrysler AG, the company had this name for up to a year. The Lux Maybach 62 and Maybach 57 Luxi sedans predetermined the standard in automobile engineering. In November, the world premiere of Mercedes-Maybach S-Class took place. Since then, this brand has become associated with exclusive cars that provide a unique level of comfort and elegant design based on advanced technologies.
Mercedes-Maybach S Pullman Mercedes The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class of the model range continues this outstanding tradition from the end of the year. In the early xs, the family moved to Stuttgart - a city in which Maybach had to endure heavy misfortunes: his mother died in the year, and only 2 years later he also lost his father. Friends of the family made a lot of effort to find a house for orphans.
In particular, they posted an ad in the newspaper Stuttgarter Anzeiger on March 20. Wilhelm Maybach was accepted in Bruderhaus “Brotherly House” in Roytlingen - an institution founded by Protestant theologian Gustav Verner and his wife Albertina. Bruderhaus contained shelters for orphans, schools and factories. Initially, Wilhelm Maybakh studied in Bruderhaus as a baker and confectioner.
However, Pastor Werner saw a huge technical talent in the boy and developed it.
In addition, from the first day of his career, he was given lessons in English and French. The work of Daimler in Roitlingen marked the beginning of a productive partnership, as the workshop inspector recognized and strengthened the skills of Maybach. Thus, in September, for a young engineer, it was logical to follow Daimler when he was appointed to the Maschinenbau-GesellSchaft Karlsruhe board for the production of steam locomotives and railway wagons went bankrupt in the year.
Maybach worked at the local design bureau. In the year, both again received a new job and moved: Daimler was appointed a member of the Gasmotoren-Fabrik Deutz AG board now Deutz AG-a manufacturer of gas and diesel engines. The company was founded as a limited liability company Nikolaus Augustus Otto and families of entrepreneurs Langen and Pfeiffer in the same year.
In the year, Maybach again followed Daimler and headed the design department of Deutz. He worked to bring the four -stroke engine OTTO to the level of production maturity. He conducted tests with liquid fuel and converted gas engine in a year. The first joint developments of Daimler and Maybach already had a vision of a compact, fast internal combustion engine, which could also be used in vehicles when he worked in Deutz.
However, he failed to realize his ideas in the company. In the middle of the year, Daimler left Gasmotoren-Fabrik Deutz to start an independent career in Cannstatt near Stuttgart. And he signed an employment contract with Wilhelm Maybach already in April. It was here that Maybach and Daimler embodied the dream of the founder of the automotive industry about motorized mobility “on the water, on land and in the air”: from the year, the first model of high -speed gasoline engines was developed in the Daimler’s house.
Along with these engines, known as the “grandfather’s watch” due to their appearance, the world's first Reitwagen motorcycle was developed, the Daimler motorized trolleys were followed, G. Maybach continued to improve the recently created automobile technologies, developing such structures as a four-speed gearbox with moving gears and a two-cylinder V-shaped engine built by Peugeot License from a year.
The inventor did not even stop the conflict between the Daimler and the company, which he founded in the early xs: Maybach developed a line two -cylinder engine of Phoenix and a carburetor with a spray nozzle in the Hermann Hotel, which the company rented then. The first modern Maybach car and the title King of the designers Wilhelm Maybach became the technical director of DMG and continued to create one key invention after another: a tubular radiator was registered in the year.
In the year, a four -stroke engine was developed for the airship of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin. In the year, DMG registered the MAYBACH cell radiator as a patent, and on November 22 of the same year, Mercedes 35 liters were built in Cannestat. Mercedes was ordered by Emil Elinek - the most important Daimler distributor at that time.At the world -famous Nice Week motorsport event, from March 25 to 29, the championship received a completely new Maybach car concept: a lightweight design, a high -performance engine with an innovative radiator, a long wheelbase and a low center of gravity.
This brilliant success finally secured the honorary title of the King of the designers for Maybach. In subsequent years, up to a year, Maybach developed the concept of a car from Mercedes Simplex 40 liters. However, after the death of Daimler on March 6, Maybach could no longer count on unconditional support within the company. This became especially obvious after the chairman of the supervisory board of DMG Max von Duttenhofer died in August.
In the year, disagreements worsened: Maybach was a hot supporter of motorsport as a driving force of serial production of cars. He developed a racing car with a six -cylinder engine with an upper distribution shaft driven by a vertical shaft, as well as with a high -voltage ignition solenoid with two spark plugs. However, instead of using the advanced creation of Maybach, the conservative design of Paul Daimler was used.
After DMG also closed the testing center, headed by Maybach, he left the company in the year. The company, managed by the son of Wilhelm Karl Maybach, moved to Friedrichshafen on the shore of Lake Bodensky in Germany in the year. After the end of the First World War, the company, called Maybach-Motorenbau, took up automobile engineering. W 3, introduced it in the year, and it was produced up to a year.
After leaving DMG, Maybach received many awards for his achievements: the Kingdom of Württemberg appointed him to the royal construction inspector in the year, in the year he was awarded the title of honorary doctor of the Stuttgart Technological Institute. And finally, which is no less important, in the year the Association of German Engineers VDI awarded him the Grazgof gold medal - the highest award of the association.
Wilhelm Maybach died on December 29. He was buried in the Cannstatt cemetery in Uff, where Gottlib Daimler was also buried. In the last year of his life, Maybach became a witness to the round -the -world flight of the airship LZ "Count Zeppelin". The airship was set in motion with the duodenum of the Maybach, developed by Karl Maybach. In the year he was listed in the "Hall of Automobile Glory", and in the year in the "European Hall of Automobile Glory".
