Alexey Chaadaev Biography

If only because he deserves this: it is always nice to see a successful athlete speaking at the world level, who, wherever he is, never forgets his small homeland - a distant Kamchatka. And although for the past 10 years, Alexei Chaadaev, a representative of the glorious ski dynasty, a member of the country's national team, lives in St. Petersburg, he always tries to use any opportunity to come home on the peninsula, stay with his family, and meet old friends.

And in such a dense sports and vacation schedule, Alexei allocated time and met with the KK correspondent to talk about sports successes and plans for the coming season. How often do a member of the national team manage to come home? Now here - in the summer. The team now turned out to be a 2-week break, but the other day I have been going to Munich to receive an inventory, and from there to Austria for a 7-day fee.

I really love this land - there is an amazing nature that seemed to be created for skiing. I am pleased to see that in the region recently they began to do something for the development of this sport-ski bases have been reconstructed, artificial equipment is working, inventory appeared in sports schools, children began to go to fees. I hope that the promised cable roads will appear in the future.

I am always interested in competing with local guys, so I am happy to perform here at the Governor of the Territory on Mountain Ski. Well, most importantly - my parents live in Kamchatka, communication with which is very important for me. When the time comes to finish his sports career, I will return to live in Kamchatka. Admit it, did you have no chance not to get skiing? My father is a master of sports of the international class, a participant in the Olympic Games, worked as a coach in the Russian national ski team for more than 20 years, and in recent years - the coach of the national team of Kazakhstan.

And for the first time I got acquainted with skiing at 4 years old, then I was brought to Edelweiss, and I just fell in love with this business. He was happy - quickly made friends with the guys, and the coaches approached their work with the soul. And somehow very quickly, mountain skis firmly entered my daily daily routine. Of course, I had the same childhood as everyone, just one additional item appeared - training.

My first mentors were the Agrane, and at the age of 8 I moved to Elizovo, to Mount Frosty, where I first studied with Viktor Bogun, and then with Gennady Budoratsky. These people brought up another titled our fellow countrymen - eminent skiers, participants in the Olympic Games Anton Konovalov and Alexander Khoroshilov. I, like these guys, had to leave Kamchatka after graduation. Just in order to continue playing sports.

It is no secret to anyone that in our region, and in Russia as a whole, then a very difficult situation with the financing of sports arose. Kamchatka could no longer give promising athletes the opportunity to realize themselves. And then we decided at the family council: in order not to lose everything that the coaches invested in me, I need to leave for another region of the country.

My grandfather, also Alexei Chaadaev, originally from Leningrad, so for a long time we did not choose a place for my future life. After all, the children of famous parents are always harder to make their own name ... - No, I never felt any pressure. On the contrary, I had a great example of my father, whom I wanted to be like. Parents always supported me, helped with advice. Phrases like: “Do not disgrace the surname!

You know, but at the very beginning I performed very poorly among children. At the same time, he was terribly worried, sometimes even reached tears - so I was offended by falls and failures. But the father always said: "Do not be upset, everything will come with time." So it in the end it turned out. Therefore, when he was offered to take the post of director of FOK in Elizov, he happily agreed.

I once asked him if he had a habit of moving, because he spent almost his whole life at the training camp and competitions, in different cities and countries. He replied that no - he wants to be closer to his family, spend evenings at home, in a circle of loved ones and friends. Of course, he is not going to throw skiing at all, and if he is invited, for example, to judge local tournaments, he will never refuse.

He also dreams of Kamchatka to regain the status of the main forge of personnel of Russian skiing. But a certain job will still need to be done to people. First of all, developing infrastructure is also modern cables, hotels and much more. Personally, I always advertise Kamchatka to our coaches, I say that it would be nice to organize fees here, including summer ones - snow can always be found here, for example, in the Mutnovsky volcano.

But here, of course, there are difficulties. It is still very expensive to get here, and people, having done such a long way and laying out a lot of money for this, still want to come to certain conditions. So that there are good bases, lifts, hotels, preferably next to the slope. But in general, I think there is a great future behind our land. How do you evaluate your success in the new field?

Didn't regret the decision to change the ski orientation? I will not say that the decision to go to Ski-Cross was difficult for me-at that time I have not seen any special prospects for myself. The composition of the team was updated there, became younger, with an eye on Sochi, and then I just received an offer from the Russian Freestyle Federation, over which I thought for two weeks and, in the end, agreed to become a ski-Russian.

But, of course, before that I consulted with my father, and he supported my decision. Here, I must say, in general, there is more cohesion inside the team than in skiing-team tactics are very important in the ski cross. But in technical terms, it was quite difficult for me - I had to master new elements, jumps. But in our training process there is a system, it’s nice to work.

We have foreigners, but with them we quickly found a common language, because we are all doing a common thing, we go to one goal. I would even say excellent. Last year, Yegor Korotkov won two “silver” among the guys last year, and Maria Komissarova took a silver medal among girls. In general, our skiros has good prospects. At least, it looks somewhat better in the world arena than skiing.

Although the efforts of the same Sasha Khoroshilov, our ski team still somehow keeps afloat. What is the problem of skiing in Russia? This is a very difficult question. There is a whole complex of problems. Firstly, Russian athletes are still going to train abroad-I think this is wrong. But it turns out cheaper, and the infrastructure abroad is better to hide. In addition, a young personnel selection system does not work very well in our country.

Unfortunately, now there are no more chance of really talented guys, but by children of wealthy parents who can afford, for example, to study at the Olympic champion school, Austrian Benjamin Reich. And I would like to have good healthy competition and real prospects among Russian children. The situation is somewhat better in the Ski-Cross. I hope that the Freestyle federation will soon open in Kamchatka, because there are conditions for the development of this sport.

He became a 4-time medalist of Russian championships in skiing, a participant in the three world championships among juniors, a participant in the World Cup, a participant in the stages of the World and European Cup. In the national team of Russia in the Ski-cross, he has been performing since the year. Ski-Cross is a type of skiing, in which skiers start 4 people at the same time and together pass the track with obstacles in the form of vihi and various springboard, trying to overtake each other and come to the finish line first.

From the year it is an Olympic sport. Ski-Cross refers to Freestyle. Alexei Chaadaev has many friends in Kamchatka, with whom they once started a ski career together. Many Kamchaters know him as an avid tourist and freerider. Ivan is sure that people like his friend Alexei are able to change the situation in Russian sports for the better. This is very important.
